Some days when there are two meetings or occasionally just one, you think to yourself ” Is it worth it?” I guess that’s a decision to be thought about. Sometimes there will be that one result that you wuldn’t have got anywhere else.
Yesterday I spent the morning by loading the races, selecting a suitable Daily Feature, giving the grandkids guitar and drum lessons and organising a nice healthy lunch. Next was a walk with Ros, shaking out a mat, amazing how much stuff accumulates on these over w eek, and so on and of course an hour of drum practice for myself.
Then it was time to follow through with new subscribers and check on the days races. I noticed John Furgals first selection had run 2nd and while I waited to see the next one come up I spotted a C PLan race at Port Augusta. Being a dirt track there was no concern about the going and our top two Winform selections were also the top two HR2D selections.
The second rated runner was Favourite and the other one 3rd pick. I dutched the two for what I thought was a guaranteed 50% profit but for some reason my second bet didn’t get on. As luck would have it that was the one that didn’t win so I found myself one bet for one good win. Was there any need to look for another?? NO, not with over $600 in my pocket.
It was similar with Highstrikers Last Minute Mail Saturday. The first race was a big winner, profit achieved walk away even though the next few races also found winners but had you persisted to the end of the day you would have been behind. The specials did not find a winner on the day so it was not all good news but they remain a good feature of HSLMM.
Our Feature yesterday was a no go after the track rating was reduced to a heavy 8
Good luck today
