These are the basic qualifying races before the dutching aspect. Once we took the prices into account, i.e. no more than 33% approx outlay to return $100 or more we found 30 qualifying races and 8 wins or 27% which is spot on with the guidelines in Amelias book. Outlays varied from just $6 in one race to 36% in another but bear in mind we were working on fixed prices. The actual return at best tote or SP would have been 12% or more higher so a nice profitable day even though we found 4 winners in the last 5 races of the day.
The longest losing run of the day was just 6 races . As a matter of interest, the remaining qualifying race produced 16 wins from 25 races or 64% but naturally that included some races with winners at $1.30 to $1.60….no value there.
Our Gold Club horse, the last of the horses we bought when we actually provided ratings and selections through the website, ran n19th in a field of 13 but that was after a 42 day break so we hope for better in two weeks time.
