Well here goes nothing. John Furgal is using a different process compared to last year which was profitable for the SMS service but a low Profit On Turnover. Subscribers using Money Factory and the like have been able to make money even when the strike rate at times dipped to 40% overall. This year the strike rate is far superior to that and yesterday the winner paid $2.80 and the other selection placed but we scored fixed place odds of $1.95 in the morning. Some subscribers to Highstrikers decided to quit this week and as it was explained to me ” I can’t spend my Saturdays watching the races to see what I should be doing.” Well, rightly so. Highstrikers was always intended for Saturday only punters who punt to make profits and to do that you must watch whats happening. Saturdays storm at Rosehill is one good reason why you would. Most Saturday punters enjoy watching and a lot of the subscribers are actually at the races armed with the Highstrikers info. You might find it amazing but some actually don’t invets in every race, instead waiting for what they believe is an opportunity such as when their selection (s) are ratified by our choice or where they are making exotice bets such as Quaddies Doubles or even Quinellas Trifectas and First 4’s and making sure that Highstrikers selections are included. I’m sure if Speith won (unlucky again)and we’d collected the Quaddie it would be a good strategy. David from Melbourne called me yesterday to tell me he added Terravista to his Highstrikers selections and did by adding Winform, which he also subscribes to, collect the good paying Quaddie. Anyhow, we have some “rules” in place and although some subscribers see these as suggestions, the $50 a week cost is more than justified by the results. By the way, Racing doesnt happen wihtout the intervention of these guys so always keep a watch on jockey changes.
