Our Daily Feature Race yesterday was at Muswellbrook where we expected a Good 4 track and our selections were basedd on that. It’s what we have to do at 8 inthe morning. But during the day the track was downgraded to a Soft 5 then 6 and then by race time a Soft 7. It changes things, and quite drastically. Sometimes the track change may actuallly favour our selected runners but as track conditions deteriorate so does the form. We always suggest that when this happens it is better to leave the race alone, and yes, we know that it is not always possible as bets get placed in advance, especially for those of you who are at work asnd have to get your bets on in your lunch break. For those who do have the right conditions it is best to take note of whats happening and this at times may include watching betting moves. An unexpected drift in the market may indicate that a runner may not have travelled well or played up in the mountin ring or any one of several otherv reasons. The end result yesterday indicated a very open market with three of the top four firming late.
