The winner won with a brilliant ride by Mc Neill. That horse’s previous best was 80 lengths SLOWER than the time it ran yesterday. It led and folded last year in this race and I looked closely at his wins in Ireland but I guess the clue that I missed was the huge drop in weight except that in this race he had the same weight as last year.
So 15 years in a row of running first followed by 5 years in a row of running second and that’s where it ends. This year my YouTube preview was viciously attacked by trolls to the extent that some were taken down by me, some by YouTube, one in particular for crude and offensive comments. I don’t need that.
Apart from that, the internationals coming over just for the race distort it all. At the end of the day it is just one race.
I cleaned up on Sin To Win and Purple Sector and ratings subscribers got the exactas and Quinellas so it’s been a good Carnival so far.
Our Gold Club horse ran last in her trial at Warwick Farm today but it was a good trial on heavy ground which she hates. Our other filly runs tomorrow and our former Gold Club Members know who she is. Its Hawkesbury tomorrow and she wont be worried about the wet track. As a 3yo filly against all ages there are just one or two runners above her grade so we are hopeful of a result.
