Moruya is a soft 6 today, well it was this morning, but its now a heavy 8 and its just as well that our Gold Club horse was scratched. Our 3yo filly is due for Warwick Farm tomorrow or Kembla Thursday but it has been decided already not to go to Kembla but as her sire has produced some runners that have done okay in the wet she might run at Warwick Farm where she is trained to see.
Most of the rain will be gone from Sydney by tomorrow and in Melbourne there will be rain but just enough to be a nuisance at the MCG but also enough that they may not have to water the track for Saturday. I doubt Sydney will be any better than a soft 6 at Randwick which is a lot closer to the coast than Rosehill or Warwick Farm. Flemington is a much better drained track these days.
All of our September form has been a little off and we are just hoping that it picks up for the next two weeks. It is an overall thing and it could just be we are in that period where the winter horses are training off but the Spring horses have not yet hit their straps.
In Perth it will be the same once they stop racing at Belmont and start up again at Ascot.
You know their is a best use of your time during this transition period and that is to read up on everything again. Take it all in and I know some are already doing this as I am being asked about things I wrote about as far back as 20 years ago and you know what? For some strategies, nothing has changed. So get out the magazines, the books and look back at some of our previous YouTube videos, especially the ones I did on the Melbourne Cup and see how you could have won a lot more than you did.
