Our Daily Feature Races have been winning nearly everyday lately but yesterdays was a real fluke. Best tote was $5.70 on an odds on favourite. How did that happen? On the Vic Tab three runners were supported across the park, and only 4th Favourite. I’d suggest that one of the corporates laid off and someone pressed the wrong button.
Anyhow, the rain in Sydney today, while it may have spoiled things a bit, didn’t have a lot to dampen as there is nothing to write home about in todays Black type races except for a 5 horse Expressway stakes. Le Romain is not a Rosehill horse and has never won there but is great first up and wont mind the wet. Alizee wonrt be as good here with the wet track bringing her back to the field and theres no doubting the quality of Trapeze Artist and Hartnell. With the consistent rain don’t expect any imporvment.
I will be looking south to Caulfield where the first shots are being fired fro the Blue Diamond. All info is posted by 9.45 except for Darwin and Perth scratchings and that will happen about 11.45.
Good luck everyone, especially if you had any Weir runners in future events, your preparation will be off and the prices at this stage are all in. Yes the stewards say “sorry punters, but we have to ensure Racing integrity” , however I am sure they would also be able to rule that refunds should be available for futures betting?
By the way. I reckon you can guarantee that the riders from the Weir stable were well aware of when the money was on. No mention of that yet…but it will come.
