Sky Diamonds ran wednesday at Warwick Farm and in a race dominated by on pace runners, they ran a dawdling 61.72 for the first 1000 metres and so the sprint was on from the turn. The last 600 time was 34.1 and so poor old SD joined the sprint race but at that pace couldnt make up ground and in addition , came in lame.
Luckily, she came up well after treatment and after a few light days will trial (required by the stewards to show shes is not lame any longer) and move on with her target the Country Cup over 2000 at Rosehill in early December.
Can’t take a trick as it turns out. She could have run at Kembla tomorrow in a field she would have been amongst the top 2 or 3 chances, and cooler.
I have one possibility today Ballarat race 5 no 2 Etienne which won first up by 2 lengths at Morphettville ,and has plenty of pace. Current price is $2.50. Our Best Bets and Zippers (some Members have it listed under that name) have a long term strike rate of 45% or more and so at the price represents fair value. It will likely try to lead althoguh that is not where winners generally come from at Ballarat.
God luck today. I will assume Penrith and GWS will be winners tonight.
