Amelias plan had a few hard days this past week but then yesterday 57% race strike rate and a 60% profit on turnover, The ugly? well a poor performance at Darwin although as we mentioned yesterday Brat was hard to beat and win it did beating our top selection the odds on favourite. Quinella anypne?? Our second Best bet was a brilliant winner but at $1.60 was not enough to beat our other BB which ran 2nd.
Got home from treatment today and after checking the races had a snooze which lasted for nearly two hours. Checked in with a neighbour Lyn (we swap books form time to time) whose husband Dennis was a client first and then a solid friend. He died from Cancer about three years or soi ago so the kids put in and gave Lyn a pug for a pet and as she said , it saved her.
She told me today that the Pug has cancer, cost her nearly $3grand just to do the tests and find out but then ongoing treatment was $600 a day and no guarantee of success. Unfortunately vets charge more for pet health then it costs for humans. Its an emotional struggle but pets do not know what is happening to them so why put them through the discomfort?? So for now her pet is on pain treatment until it gets too much.
