Imagine you have been waiting for a month to get your horse into a race, you travel 1,000ks to get to the races, yopu get your money on and the horses is backed into favouritism and then in the barrier stalls your horse gets stirred up, hits his head, gets his front leg ovfer the barrier and is withdrawn. What then? The horse has to be vetted and if fit eased back into work then barier trialled before it can even be nominated for a future race, and then it all starts again. Right race, suitbale barrier, rider available, the weather and on it goes as do the bills. Oh the joyds of being an owner. The punter in the meantime, has the ability to choose his horses, blackbook them and follow until they win or drop them if they lose, get replacements, only get on when you believe the circumstances are right, organise your staking so that when the wins arrive you eventually come out in front. It’s easier btu still hard and you don’t get the joy that an owner gets when it all comes together in front of your eyes.
