Sad to say both Lismore and Ipswich are off today and you’ve got to feel for those affected by the flooding. I recall many years ago when I was running the musical instrument business for Palings, the local Palings store had pulleys inside the shop and when flood threatened they lifted the entire floor above the high water level. But what is the high water level? At Lismore the levee built ten years ago to protect the town has broken as the flood has reached new heights. You can’t hold back the tide. And I heard today that 130 peoeple who called for an emergency rescue last night couldn’t be reached. I hope they get to them today and safe. It seems petty to be thinking about Racing today but life goes on and the floodwaters will recede. Outside the wet zone there are six meetings today and outside my office window the sun is shining again. Randwick is a heavy 9 but could get into the soft range as no more rain is predicted today or tomorrow.
