We’ve had an extraordinary run of tough mares over the past few years, Sunline, Black Caviar, Makybe Diva, Black Caviar, Winx and now Very Elegant, the list goes on and the number of times I’ve personally won on them is almost always. I missed another great mare Saturday, Madam Rouge, although she was in the third leg of my quaddie.
At Mornington today we see Violinist, a placegetter in two Group3 races before spelling and today a provinvcial maiden. Naturally a selection in this weak race but currently $1.30 and I ask why take a risk? Also the stewards report that today she doesnt have a stallion chain ??? and has blinkers off for the first time….Hey , I thought she was a filly? But it is a fillies and mares maiden so maybe shes just a bit…well you know?
We also had great results for the winform top two at the weekend with several double figure winners. Sunday was 42% profit Saturday 22%. We did leave out heavy tracks. All up for $100 bets it was over $10,000 profit. Not bad.
