Interesting way that you summarise a field. Interested in a link your Melb Cup thoughts.
By the way I’m the only son of Frank Reys, our 1st & only ever indigenous winning jockey in 1973 on Gala Supreme. Also the 1st & I believe only winner from barrier 24. Brew is sometimes considered to also have won from 24, but a late withdrawal meant he jumped from 23.
Thanks,
Chris Reys
I love it and I replied to Chris that I actually backed Gala Supreme, part of my long term winning Melbourne Cup strategy.
BY THE WAY HERES MY NEW STRATEGY. Years ago it was Mckinnon top3, Caulfield Cup top 3 Moonee Valey Cup 2,3,4 because the winner got a penalty (wont worry Okita Soushi I dont think) and the Hotham on the Saturday before.
Now I replace the Mckinnon with the Cox Plate top 3 and we wouldnt be far off.
It really only started to fall apart once the overseas invaders began to fill the fields and I believe we only have 3 or 4 Aussie Bred runners this year.
Anyhow think about this. Next year Russia, including the North Koreans will have suffered over one million losses of personnel, the 700,000 mark will happen by tomorrow.
The Middle East civilian losses all up are dwarfed by the losses suffered by Ukraine and a third of the entire population have been forced to move or have been stolen by Russia including 30,000 children who were taken there to be reeducated.
Makes you think.
Anyhow, have fun tomorrow, I treat it as a potential lottery win as the Trifecta could be $10,000 plus and the First 4 ten times that and WOW, the quaddie, anything if a long shot wins.
And he and his family travel to Ukraine each 6 months to provide support for displaced civilians. He deserves whatever accolades he gets.
