With the scratching of War Machine our default selction was added so we basically had two quaddies and the longer priced runner we had won. So even though we had 3 short priced winners virtually noone had Boomtown BOss but we did so a nice $364+ quaddie two times.
With all the wet weather quaddies have been hard to come by. What a difference it makes when the track is dry. Boomtown Boss had far superiro form on Good tracks and a specialist at the distance.
Smarter than the average bear…but you all knew that didn’t you. Ive written about it so many times in books magazines and on video
Last week our SoulSung Choir did the Parakeets song by that young fellow. Its amazingly catchy and so our choir is doing that as our warm up song.
Ive just received my last month and last 6 months figures from everyone. I’m being punished severely by TAB and no longer get a free money back bet of my choice up to $100 and also most of the 25% boost bets have gone too.
Ive won the princely sum of $1140 from them in the last 6 months. It has been a huge drought on our Barrier based selections but that will turned around. I think we even had a rout of just 2 wins in over 20 runners. I will stick as it has been proved over the last 11 years to be a success story.
My other filly is getting ready to have a jump out in the next two years and has just turned 3. We are hopeful but we as we are in it as a breeding proposition. She does need to win though.
It was Ros birthday yesterday and so today her sister has dropped in to cook us a prawn dish for lunch. Its not going that great as bot Ros and Peg have started to lose their cooking skills. I havnt luckily, i’ve gained them. I did a steak cooking course some years ago and no longer eat steak anywhere but home as I do a far better job than most of the so called chefs out there. Most are simply cooks. Even the so called Steak houses cant do it. When you can ask for a medium rare and get a medium well you know they are in trouble. I sent mine back and I learned it was just a kid doing the cooking.
I sometimes do a Viking Steak and satisfy everyone by slicing it from the outside which will be medium and work my way to the bone by which time it is close to rare but incredibly juicy.
Add a potato /pumpkin, sweet potato and zucchini bake and it is simply right on song for a family BBQ.
I have also perfected Salmon and fresh Barramundi, the latter with butter and lemon sauce..(just 20 sec in the microwave) sets it up nicely. Ive noticed that Coles have added it to their regular deli offering now.
Well thats the catch up news. The Spring Carnival starts this month with some of the minor Listed and Group races bu never knock the country races if looking for a winner. Few longshots but easy to nail a 40% win strike with a little bit of effort.
This was the sunrise this morning but a chilly 7 and westerly breeze soon broke out after a huge lightning show last night.
On another angle there were some UAPs about before the storm. They were clearly lit up by the moonrise and stayed around and seen by hundreds of locals.
