With four of the nine runners is it any surprise that the winner quinella and trifecta were all Waller horses. In fact, wihtou them there may have been no Rowley mile this year. Prizemoney for this feature race was only $100,000, just $20,000 more than the average Sydney Metropolitan race. Not much of an incentive. In the meantime SA residents now have to pay a tax of 15% on their betting but HEY! . What’s Nick Xenophon doing about this highly unjust situation? He’s supporting it provided it goes to gamblers rehabilitataion. The tax is applied to the bookmaker or TAB who obviouly have to pass it on. It’s just another blow to the average punter. Maybe what they should do is make Austrlain owned bookmakers and conpanies exempt. The some good might come of it.

i wonder if nsw govt will do the same to compensate for closing down the greyhound industry to retrieve lost tax.?
I live in Adelaide and bet frequently.
What differences will there be to the odds I receive when this tax kicks in?
Surely big corporates like Sportsbet could absorb this extra cost by expanding
their customer base?
