To be honest we will not be betting at all in Melbourne now. And with other tracks also being rain affected we are packing up the computers and heading out. Yesterday with only two meetinsg in the afternoon we bet for the Punters Pool just one race which won and aded $220 profit to our Bank. It’s a shame we wont be having a go at todays Quaddie but sense dictates we should wait for a better day. The Weather and track should improve by Saturday so we will spend some time working on Saturdays meeting. It’s Belles birthday today so we will spend some of my personal winnings on a nice dinner for her at the beautiful Scratchleys by the harbour in Newcatsle tonight where the rain and wind will spatter on our window panes as the lights come on.

Very poetic Garry. The state of the Flemington track, for whatever reason, has spoiled the whole carnival in my view. I realise the weather has to take it’s share of the blame. However, things like the lack of aggression of the jockeys in the Melbourne Cup had to be seen to be believed. I could have kicked my hat around faster than they went in the early part of the race. Then most of the backmarkers were left to come down the best section of the track (3m to 10m out) where there was little room. I think they were lucky not to have had a serious fall to mar the spectacle even further. Congratulations to Ms Payne though. What a great ride.
That makes a lot of sense Garry but with the track now a heavy 9 I don’t like your chances of seeing a Good track at Flemington by Saturday.
