Nah, didn’t go there but could have. Sometimes its the simple things that make us money. For example, I use my Amex card for every transaction I can , you get more points than a standard card although I don’t pay any extra fees but switch to my other rewards card. I use a flybuys card at Coles and my electricity account and Coles insurance ( is usually NRMA but at half or less of the flagbearers price) and at the end of each month my cards transfer to Virgin. I reckon I save a small fortune each year for just being slightly smart (Coles flybuys is far better than the Woolies scheme which took me five years to get one economy flight to for one person to Melbourne and back). Already this year I have had six business class flights for my points. My business has its own Business Amex card which gifts us Christmas gifts for ourselves during the annual sales, once again for doing nothing but using the card where available. The samee strategy should be used by all Members when placing their bets. Use the money back 2nd and 3rd options where you can, for example, Saturday some of our Highstrikers selections ran a place in eligible races. That all adds to the pie or keeps us in the race . Either way it just makes sense. I can afford my flights and rewards out of my own money but why not take it while it is there? In brief, every dollar counts. Today is Alice Springs Cup Day at Pioneer Park and I have no idea what can win it. Darwin form means little here except that they ar both dirt tracks. We win the Darwin Cup all the time but this one… Funny thing we always do very well on this track for their regular races.
