High Strikers Last Minute Mail hit the front with its 2nd Special while the 3rd one dropped the rider, all the others placed. No harm done. As the day progressed the strategy of up to three runners per race was always in front and reached a peak after Flemington Race 5 but still only less than half a unit ahead of our win in the very first race of the day. With a nice winner in the last at Flemington we ended with a minor profit, a lot less than when we landed our first winner. So one strategy is to quit when in front. Another is to back the specials in a separate bank. Yet another is to take your profit early and use just that profit to try for a bigger win. For some Members they want a set and forget strategy and that’s where the specials come in, you can do that and get on at top fluctuation early in the day. You can adjust your stakes weekly if you want. The Professional Staking Plan comes to mind as another good plane where there are selections which can be backed at the start of the day. Our new Hotshots can be backed this way as can the Premium selections. John Furgals SMS selections hit a slump through February/March even though the place strike maintained the usual 70% to 80% strike rate, the wins dropped to around 30% but he’s back in form and this week has landed 7 wins from 8 including a $6.20 winner yesterday. Our Weekend Feature race was a bust although we did get the Quinella. The Daily Feature did the same but even though we were on the right horse, a clever ride by Noske beat the great W Pike for once. Our Premiums got two good winners and 6 placed from 7 selections plus our Best Bet won.
