The good news for midweek racing is that there are rarely more than 500 people anywhere so they could just keep racing and letting people come with a limit of 500. At Goulbourn last year I was there to watch our Gold Club filly Sky Diamonds run 3rd. There were no more than say 150 people there including owners trainers and raceday staff. Today at Broken Hill there would be thousands for the St Patricks Day meeting but that is an exception. the Warnambool Carnival, well that will have to go I expect, unless we have beaten the virus by then, I doubt it.
So there will be NO MORE info from the course itself. No-one reporting on horses sweating up in the ring, no betting moves from the connections to be observed. Just so long as they don’t cancel it we will be alright. You can’t take 20% of a horses racing life away, well shouldn’t anyway, our dedicated Racing people, stable hands , trainers and so on , need their income to keep coming and it is a fairly isolated game anyway.
Good luck today, maybe they can mike up the Google Boxers to use as the crowd sounds…
