All up yesterday we invested on the Caulfield Quaddie and had a bit of bad luck. Because of the winners prices we actually got back $250 less than our outlay but got at least two of the runners into a slot in each leg just not the better priced ones we were after. Our Saturday Lotto entries fared a little better, we finished up with a small profit, no mean feat I can tell you but the entries we have suggest a 40% chance of collecting each week, that’s 100% so far. It wasn’t the best Saturday BUT the Hotshots landed a $7 winner from the three selections to break our duck. John Furgals SMS looked beyond redemption with three straight losers before a $4.20 winner which means a small profit on the day. The BIG NEWS is that Australia Post is honouring Winx with two stamp issues, a $1 one and a $2. After yesterdays effort there is little doubt that she is headed for yet another Cox Plate win. The big failure was the run of Kementari. And the other big win was Le Romain. In our Spring package we suggested the race was not value as Le Romain had firmed to $2.20 in the morning but at $2.80 a few minutes before the start, well that was very close to our assessed price of $3 and in the straight he was never going to lose.
