It tiook a little time coming but in the last at Swan Hill The Hayflyer won at $45.50 and I was just discussing this issue with Ken this morning. The longshots are few and far between, about 2% to 3% of Winform selections to tell the truth but with winners up to $200 lately you can quickly get to the front if you keep your eyes out.
A few of our Members really only look at runners at big prices and consider whether there is a good reason for the “bad” price.
It had 5 starts from a spell , none distinctive but still had a “best” winform rating of 45 when it ran last before a 34 day break when the stewards had noticed a poor result when backed moderately and then at its only winning distance of 1400 (twice) yesterdays race at 1300 suggested a better opportunity.
Of course Ken and I also chatted about how various health problems can make sitting waiting for an opportunity in the older age group a bit of a handicap. Better to quickly check in the morning when the day looks brighter and set an alarm for when the events are getting closer.
I spent 2.30 over two days at Telstra overcoming their systems shortcomings just to update to a new Ipad. However I now have put all our phones and Ipads together and got a cheaper price by 20%. Now I have over 300GB a month across the board whereas previously I had half that and5 different plans.
Needless to say, yesterday was a boomer for Amelias winform plan.
