From our last four runners we had a good win at Canberra, one started favourite and was struck in running and came in bleeding from that cut but is going well again no after recovering and one led bya couple of lengths at Canterbury Friday night before being caught near the post while our 3yo at his second start proveed still green and headstrong. He could be a star if he gets his act together. All four runners were well placed fit and ready and the philosophy is that if they can’t win or at least finish close up they won’t start. So even though this is the case, the luck in running, changes to expected track conditions and oh so many other circumstances, can all comspire to beat us. It shoes one importnat thing. In spite of our best efforts with owners and trainers and jockeys you can never accout for what happens in the race. When we do our formanalysis we often end up on the winners in spite of the plans and predictons of others. You can plan and prepare all you like and we all hear about the plunges that come off but you don’t hear about the numerous runners that go in with the confidence of their connections and so you are far more liely to win with your form selections than your “inside” knowledge.
