Years on from night racing and RacingNsw is sticking to 10.30 scratchings for night meetings. Everywhere else, scratchings are at the usual time early enough in the mornings for punters to do their form. Yes there are some good things being achieved like video replays and trials and so on but seriosuly, what’s the problem. Our Gold Club has a runner at Canterbury tonight but being trained in the country means we have to be long on the road before final scratchings are in so if we were hoping for a better barrier we are not even aware at this stage other than worst case scenario. Luckily we expect a good result, just hoping any major rain stays away which it may well do. John Furgals SMS had one possible selection but with serious stroms expceted at Warnambool the selection wasnt sent out. The races were abandoned before race start time. It does look like a drought as far as selections are concerned if the rain event happens. We’ve lost Ipswich today but still plenty of meetings to work with. We’ve had a lot of new subscribers this week ,just hoping they don’t go overboard as it has been a good week but as we know, results are up and down and you just can’t predict when agood run ends and a bad run happens…and vice versa of course. But, readers can’t help noticing the value of the new deal.
