It was a loooong day yesterday. I think i reported we were up at 4am, we dropped anchor at, close to , 6pm. We took shelter just off Hinchinbrook Island, the largest national park in Queensland. The highest peak is 1100m, the water is murky in the channel which is very flat water, being protected from the ocean side. The township of Cardwell lurks on the opposite shore and was well lit up overnight. Apparently it is on the Bruce Highway and is a main stop for tourist buses, trucks etc heading up and down the coast. I wish i could post some photo’s of the trip but i don’t know that much about Garry’s text editor to do that. Today will be a short one (I think). We shall see. Overnight we had a few showers, but this morning is a glorious day. I’m getting used to sleeping on the boat now and finding that i am either overtired or not reacting to the extraneous noises the boat makes at night. Just had breakfast and caught up on some of my normal job via the internet. Now we head off after a cup of tea…………………………………..John Furgal had a three selections yesterday and scored with 2 of them and the other ran 2nd for a profit. I originally posted that wasn’t the case but i’m putting that down to tiredness from yesterday, apologies to John congrats to all the winners! The Daily Feature Race missed. Garry’s back this week sometime, so the normal format will resume and you won’t have to put up with my travelogue too much longer……………………good luck today.
