As the very first Horse Racing site on the Internet in the early 90’s we would never have xpected how the Internet would play out. It used to take as much as 20 minutes just to download a single picture.
Our YouTube channel gets regular “comments” which include the promotion of spam websites and luckily 99.9% of these are filtered out without being seen.
But back to the battle. Last night we reached close to $2400 proift at a rate of over 31% on our New strategy which is based entirely on races of just 5 -7 runners .
Our Base is just $10 ew to start and a $1,000 series. The idea is simple. If we get to the stage where we are $1,000 behind it is time to quit and start back at scratch. Overall (we created the method in the late 90’s and refined it in 2015) we average 18 series clearances ( we clear whenevre we are in profit) to every “bust”.
Anyhow, we cleared the series at least 3 times , possibly 4, yesterday. And we’ve had many Members respond positively.
One of our selections yesterday paid $3.50 for the win and $4.60 the place..why? Beacuse that’s part of our strategy. In these small fields we do get weird results fairly regularly.
Betsmart had a really good day yesterday with $309 at Morphettville and +$67 at Caulfield.
So Mothers day. The flowers reminded me of a weird thing that happened many many years ago. I took my girlfriend to Sydney. She was dressed to the 9’s and my first surprise was a trip to Manly on the ferry (that was a sort of luxury thing at the time) and then later to the New revolving restaurant in Australia Square. I gave my date a beautiful bunch of flowers.
It was only after the weekend we split up…..you see its not that she didnt like the date or the flowers………..but she was expecting ……………a diamond ring. And then her mum told her I would never be able to support her because I owned horses and bet on them.
Later, after Ros and I were married and had moved into a new house in a deluxe estate that I spotted her and 3 kids in a clapped out car with her husband looking and dreaming of owning one of those houses in the New estate. Mums can be great but how often are they right about what is and isnt “husband” material.
I’m sorry if it feels “mean” but it did make me feel how lucky I was to marry a great mother and supporter for myself and our children.
